Christmas in Crabapple and Milton Tree Lighting Dec 4

Filed under: Milton — Tags: — Kathy and Ben @ 1:09 pm

This year on December 4, Milton residents and others nearby have two chances to get in the Christmas spirit! First up is Christmas in Crabapple, an annual event held this year from 2-5pm.  Santa will be on hand for photographs, there will be carriage rides and roving carolers and performances by local choirs.

From 7-9pm, join in the 2nd annual Milton tree lighting at the corner of Hwy 9 and Webb Bridge (southwest corner of the Target shopping center).  Again, Santa will be available for photos and there will be refreshments and musical performances.

In the spirit of Christmas and giving, warm clothing donations for local charity The Drake House will be accepted at Christmas in Crabapple and the Marines will be on hand at the tree lighting ceremony to take unwrapped toys benefiting Toys for Tots.

So get out and support our town this Saturday and enjoy the Holiday spirit!

*Research Schools before Buying a Home

Prospective homebuyers don’t always think about schools when looking for a home- maybe they don’t have children or they’ve grown up and moved out.  However, we think schools are ALWAYS an important consideration when looking for a home.  Why?  Because the success or failure of schools will, over time, affect whether property values rise or fall.

*Incredible Golf Options in Milton and Alpharetta

Never heard of Milton GA?  You’re probably not alone- the town has only been in existence for two years and does not even have a dedicated zip code.  Maybe you’re more familiar with Alpharetta– most of Milton is in previously unincorporated areas of Alpharetta.  The area is a true gem north of Atlanta with lots of scenic farmland.

But today we wanted to give you insight into another fact about the area that you may not be familiar with.  That is, the incredible concentration of golf courses in this area.  Within a short drive, there are multiple award-winning courses available for residents and visitors to the area, some of which we’ll cover here.

Wednesday Weekly Buyer Specials

Time again for our weekly review of corporate-owned, lender-owned and foreclosure properties that have come on market in the last seven days in Woodstock, North Fulton and East Cobb County- here are the results:

Woodstock Homes for Sale

North Fulton Homes for Sale

East Cobb Homes for Sale

Our favorite “pick” this week is a foreclosure in Milton (Alpharetta) on Freemanville Road- the 4,425 sq ft home sits on 1.69 acres and has 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths and a half bath plus finished basement.  The home originally sold for $700,000 in 2007 and is now for sale at $485,000.

Remember, as always, that these “deals” aren’t always what they seem– sometimes banks and corporations list their homes at or near market value regardless of their condition, so you always want to make sure you know what other homes have sold for in the neighborhood/area and how the neighborhood/area is trending in value.
