Wednesday Weekly Buyer Specials

Time for another edition of our weekly feature– we’ve once again reviewed corporate-owned, lender-owned and foreclosure properties that have come on market in the last seven days in Woodstock, North Fulton and East Cobb County- here are the results:

Woodstock Homes for Sale

North Fulton Homes for Sale

East Cobb Homes for Sale

Our favorite “pick” this week is a foreclosure in Highland Pointe, a Marietta neighborhood located in East Cobb.  The home has 4 bedrooms on the main levels, 4 full baths and 1 half bath on a finished basement plus a 3 car garage.  With spectacular views off Sweat Mountain, the home is assessed for almost half a million and is listed for $369,900.

Remember, as always, that these “deals” aren’t always what they seem– sometimes banks and corporations list their homes at or near market value regardless of their condition, so you always want to make sure you know what other homes have sold for in the neighborhood/area and how the neighborhood/area is trending in value.

Woodstock GA FREE Concert – Sat, Sept. 18

The 2010 Woodstock Summer Concert Series comes to a finale Saturday, Sept. 18 with the Swinging Medillions in the Downtown Park at 7:30 pm.  It should be a great concert with a fantastic band.  Known as “The Party Band of the South”,  this group has been around since the 60s touring throughout the South.  Their most noted recording “Double Shot ( of My Babys Love)” was a million seller in 1966.    There could not be a better way to spend a Saturday evening then listening to this band.

Before the concert at 7:30, there will shag lessons starting at 6:00pm in front of the stage.  If you never learned the Classic Carolina Shag come learn from Dewitt Hinson, North Carolina Shag Hall of Fame inductee.

On a personal note, this is group I listened to on the radio will cruising in the car on hot summer evenings and attended their events way back in the 60s.  It’s great knowing they are still appreciated and good music lives forever…Kathy

The US Department of Education awards public and private elementary, middle and high schools for either achieving at very high levels or for  making significant progress towards closing the achievement gap among disadvantaged or minority students.  Etowah High School was chosen for the award for high achievement on standardized state assessment tests.

Never heard of Milton GA?  You’re probably not alone- the town has only been in existence for two years and does not even have a dedicated zip code.  Maybe you’re more familiar with Alpharetta– most of Milton is in previously unincorporated areas of Alpharetta.  The area is a true gem north of Atlanta with lots of scenic farmland.

But today we wanted to give you insight into another fact about the area that you may not be familiar with.  That is, the incredible concentration of golf courses in this area.  Within a short drive, there are multiple award-winning courses available for residents and visitors to the area, some of which we’ll cover here.
